Who We Are

David Renton & Sons is a long-established haulage and aggregates business serving the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and East Lothian. As a family-run company, we take pride in delivering a service that is reliable, straightforward and built on decades of hands-on experience.

Our modern fleet of 8-wheel tippers supports a wide range of customers — from local builders, groundworkers and farmers, to national contractors, utility companies and local authorities. Whether it’s aggregate deliveries, muck shifting, site clearance, or recycled materials, we focus on doing the job properly, safely and on schedule.

With our depot near Duns, we are ideally positioned to cover towns, villages and rural communities across the region. Customers trust us because we communicate clearly, turn up when we say we will, and work with the flexibility that only a family business can offer.

Our History

The Renton family has been associated with haulage since the late 1950s, when David Renton Senior started out with his first vehicle. Over the decades, the business expanded steadily, supporting farms, builders, forestry work and construction projects throughout Berwickshire and beyond.

What began as a small local service has grown into a respected regional operation, now supported by a modernised fleet, established depots and a loyal customer base across the Scottish Borders, Northumberland and East Lothian.

While technology, vehicles and materials have changed over the years, our approach has stayed the same: work hard, look after your customers and deliver a service you can stand behind.

Today, the business continues to build on that legacy. Generations of experience guide every decision we make — from investing in safe, reliable vehicles to providing honest, straightforward service on every job. Our long-standing relationships with local farmers, contractors and businesses reflect the trust built over more than six decades, and we remain committed to supporting the region’s industries for many years to come.

Proud to Serve the Region

We are committed to supporting local communities, rural industries and construction projects that help our region grow. Whether it’s a large commercial development, a farm track improvement or a simple one-load delivery, every customer receives the same level of care and professionalism.
